You just submitted a property through Sunroom - amazing! You might be wondering how to make sure your client, any tenants, maintenance personnel, and anyone else involved can access the property while we're working on getting it leased.
When you list a property with Sunroom, we visit the property in person to take professional photos and install marketing items to optimize the renter experience. No matter what you choose for Sunroom to do at property setup, our team will take care of the property like it's ours.
If you ask us to install a Sunlock for self tours, the owner's original key will not give access to the property while we're working on getting it leased. We will reinstall the owner's original deadbolt once lease gets signed. Read more about Sunlocks here>
But never fear! Property access is simple for partners, owners, and anyone else involved. There will be multiple ways for authorized people to access the property. Sunroom takes care of everything, and we notify you immediately after we make any changes to the property. You can also find the most up-to-date access information in the listing in your partner portal. (See what it looks like below.)

Sunlock Access

When we install a Sunlock at the property for self tours, we completely replace the original deadbolt with a Sunlock. This means the owner's original key will not give them access to the property while we're working to get it leased. Every Sunlock has a unique access code. Once the Sunlock is installed, we will send you the access code via email and add it to the listing in your partner portal. You can share the access code with your client or opt them in to get an instant email update from Sunroom when we change the locks.
We will uninstall the Sunlock and reinstall the original deadbolt after a lease is signed.
Why do we need to replace the deadbolt when we allow for self tours? Read more about how Sunlocks help drive safe self tours for renters.>
Combo Lockbox Access
Even if there’s a Sunlock, you can still access the property the old school way with a key. During the set up process, Sunroom will install a combo lockbox at the property. The combo lockbox is for you (the partner), the owner, and any vendors (ie: cleaner, painter, etc) if needed. Renters will not be given access to the combo lockbox. We will use the combo lockbox later on to coordinate renter move-in once a lease is signed. The code to the combo lockbox and a photo of where it was installed will be in the listing in your partner portal.
Supra Access
Sunroom installs our own Supra at every property. The Supra is used by licensed real estate agents who come to the property to give tours for their renter clients. If there's a Sunlock installed at the property, we will put a key to the Sunlock in the Supra. For agents doing showings, the Sunlock works like a regular lock and key.
